Who Is Getting Your Food Dollars?

The reason I think it is a good idea to feel part of a movement is that it becomes motivating.

When you eat crap or junk food – it usually comes from only a few sources. In other words processed foods made from GMO wheat, corn, soya etc are all sold by just a few multinational companies.

Most of us don’t eat enough vegetables and women in particular don’t eat enough protein rich foods each meal.  The 5-a-day logo is very misleading when it includes fruit and vegetables and really it is the vegetables which are better for us.

If you want to make small, sustainable changes to your lifestyle this month, just try this one thing – eat some vegetables with each meal.

If you also buy those vegetables from a local farmer or local organic shop then you are also being part of the Food Revolution as well as hitting the UN goals.

UN Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels

Imagine it from a hormonal level. You feel good about eating better and buying locally produced foodstuffs, so that lowers your stress hormone cortisol and increases the production of DHEA.

DHEA is the mother hormone of all the other hormones so you get more estrogen, progesterone and testosterone when you need it most.
